YeKarlo Family · last updated 25 September 2026
YeKarlo Family is an app a family uses to agree on chores, track who did what, and keep a shared record of what each person has earned. This policy says exactly what the app stores, why, and who can see it. It describes what the software actually does, not what it might do one day.

The short version
We store what you type into the app — family and member names, chores, and the record of work and rewards — plus the email address on the Google account you sign in with. We do not sell it, do not share it for advertising, and run no usage analytics or tracking of what you do. The one outside service in the app is a crash reporter, which is told that something broke - and never your names, chores, amounts or email. See "Who can see your data" below.
The app is free for the first 14 days after you sign in. Unlocking a member for good after that costs a one-time fee, billed through Google Play. Google collects the payment and holds your card details — not us. See Credits are not money and The membership fee below.
What we collect, and why
- Your Google account identifier and email address, if you sign in that way. To recognise you when you sign in again, and to attach your work and balance to you rather than to a device. We receive these from Google when you choose to sign in. We never see your Google password.
- Your mobile number, if you sign in that way instead. Parents may sign in with a phone number and a one-time code rather than with Google. We store the number so we recognise you next time, and the code itself only as a hash that expires within minutes. We do not use your number for anything else, and never send you marketing.
- Nothing at all, if you are a child. A child does not sign in and has no account of their own. See Children below.
- Your display name. So other people in your family can tell who is who.
- Your family's name, and the list of its members. This is the group the app organises everything around.
- Chores, categories, budgets, and who each chore is assigned to. The substance of what the app is for.
- The record of work done, approved or rejected; penalties and their reasons; rewards, requests to cash credits in, and the comments on them. The shared ledger the family relies on. It is deliberately append-only: entries are corrected by a further entry rather than by erasing history, so nobody can quietly rewrite what happened.
- Your chosen language. So the app opens in it next time.
- A session token, on your own device. So you stay signed in. It is held in your device's secure storage and stops working when you sign out.
- Whether a member has paid to unlock the app for good. Google Play handles the payment itself and tells us only that it happened — an order reference and which product was bought, never your card details. We store that so the unlock does not expire.
What we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers, and no advertising.
- No usage-analytics or behavioural-tracking SDKs. The one exception is the crash reporter described below, which receives no names, emails, chores, amounts or messages.
- No location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or files.
- No payment or card details of yours. The one-time membership fee is billed and collected by Google Play; we only ever receive Google's confirmation that it happened, never your card.
- Nothing about what you do outside this app.
Children
This app is meant to be used by children alongside a parent, so this section matters more than the rest.
- A child does not create an account, and we collect no identifier of any kind about them. No email address, no phone number, no Google account. Their record holds the name their parent typed for them, and nothing else.
- A child cannot join a family on their own. A parent creates a single-use join code and gives it to that child. The code is what signs them in: it works once, it expires in seven days, and the parent can cancel it at any time. Without a code from a parent there is no way in and nothing to see.
- A parent can see everything about their own child in the app — every chore, every entry in the ledger, every request to cash credits in — and can remove that child from the family at any time.
- Nothing about a child is used for advertising, profiling, or recommendation. There is no such system in the app.
- Nothing is shared outside the family. A child's data is visible only to members of their own family.
Because a child needs no account, none of this depends on a child being old enough to hold one. If you believe a child is using the app without a parent's involvement, write to naveenvichaar@gmail.com and we will remove it.
Credits are not money
The app counts in a unit it calls RC. RC is a number in your family's own record. It is not money, not a currency, not stored value, and cannot be bought, sold, redeemed, or transferred outside your family. When a child asks to "cash in" credits, the app records the request and the parent's answer. Whatever is actually handed over, if anything, is entirely between the parent and the child and happens outside the app.
The membership fee
This is the one real payment the app is involved in, and it is separate from RC.
The app is free to use for the first 14 days after a member signs in. After that, unlocking that member for good costs a one-time fee of ₹99 — a discounted price; the regular price is ₹199 — charged once, never again, per member. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
The fee is billed and collected entirely by Google Play's billing system. We never see or store your card details; Google does. What we receive back from Google is confirmation that the purchase happened, which is what unlocks the member.
Because Google processes the payment, refunds follow Google Play's own refund policy, not one of ours. Ask Google Play first; write to us if you are stuck and we will help however we can.
Who can see your data
- Your family. Members of your family see the family's chores, members, and ledger. Setting budgets, approving work, applying penalties, and inviting people are restricted to parents.
- Nobody else. Families are separated from one another in the database itself, by row-level security keyed to the family — not merely by application code remembering to filter.
- Our hosting provider. Data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL) on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region in India. They host it; they do not use it.
- A crash-reporting service (Sentry). When the app breaks, it sends a report saying what failed and on what kind of phone, tagged with an anonymous id - never a name, email, chore, amount or message, and no screenshots. It exists so we can fix faults before you have to write to us. It does not track what you do.
- Google, for sign-in, to the extent of confirming who you are; and for Google Play Billing, to charge and confirm the one-time membership fee. Your payment details are Google's to hold, not ours.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. We would disclose it only if legally required to, and only what was required.
How long we keep it
Your family's records stay for as long as the family uses the app, because the ledger is only useful if it is complete. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your identity and your personal details. Where an entry in a shared family ledger cannot be removed without destroying another member's record of what they earned, we remove your name from it rather than delete the entry. See deleting your account.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Write to naveenvichaar@gmail.com from the email address on your account and we will respond within 30 days. A parent may make this request on behalf of their child.
Security
Traffic to and from the app is encrypted in transit. Data is separated per family at the database level. Session tokens are held in your device's secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who can see it, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
